The Ultimatum: Is War Inevitable?
The President has frequently used the word "war"
in the wake of Tuesday's terrorist attacks.
Television networks have icons on the bottom of
their screen saying "America's New War" or
"America Fights Back." But what does war mean
when the enemy has no land, no capitol, no
borders?

Geopolitical Region: Is this situation the failure of US
foreign policy?
The United States has become Public Enemy #1 in
many parts of the Middle East. But this was not
always the case. The U.S. was beloved for a long
time because, unlike other Western powers, it did
not seek to colonize the region. But all that has
changed. American support of Israel, the Gulf
War, and other foreign policy decisions have
created several enemies in the region. Our panel
examines how past actions in the Middle East may
have led to Tuesday’s terrorist attack.

The Economy: Will it recover?
The Dow Jones experienced its largest single day
drop ever today, with the industrials tumbling more
than 680 points. The one-day drop was not
surprising, as today was the first day of trading
since last Tuesday’s terrorist attacks that destroyed
the World Trade Center. But what long-term
impact will the attack have on the economy? Is the
recession that was feared before now a foregone
conclusion?
