BOSTON, Mass. - October 26, 2006 - Kerry Healey is making a run for the Governor's office from her current position as lieutenant governor of Massachusetts. But her political career had previously stuttered at the start: while consulting on criminal justice issues, Healey ran for the House of Representatives twice and lost both times.

She was named chairperson of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee in 2001 but served for less than six months before Mitt Romney selected her as his running mate.

In the final part in our series of candidate profiles, WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov looks at Kerry Healey on and off the campaign trail.
